Reese's Homework

Since Reese is in kindergarten, his homework mainly consists of a lot of coloring and letter sounds.

There was one particular page where he was asked to color the things that began with the letter "D".  I gave him his crayons and told him I would be back in a few minutes to check on him.

I came back to see that all of the correct ones had been colored...except for 2.  One was a donkey, which he said was a horse.  Ok, I can appreciate that.  The other was a deer.  Here's a photo that I took after he colored it:

I asked him why he didn't color the deer.  He said, "Oh, I thought it was a monkey with horns."

My Son Has No Shame

Reese.  He has to be the most impatient child that I have ever seen and he has no problem letting you know when you have caused him any inconvenience.

He is also very persistent.

One day, he kept asking me all afternoon if I would draw him a picture of Darth Vader.  I was too busy at the time so I told him that I would do it tomorrow.  Tomorrow to him means first thing in the morning.  You know that feeling you get when someone is watching you?  I had that feeling at about 6:30 in the morning.  I woke up to see two little eyeballs staring at me over the top of my mattress.

He said, "Can you draw me a picture of Darth Vader now?"

About a month ago, we took Keira to the doctor for her 2 week appointment.  It took a bit longer than usual to get called back but once they did, he told the medical assistant that they "took so long".

Today it was very hot outside so his teacher kept them all inside of the classroom and the parents had to stand in a line at the door to pick up their kids.  Plus, one of the teachers wasn't there today so there were two classes of kids coming out of the same door.

I was pretty much at the end of the line.  I knew that Reese was probably getting very irritated sitting in there. Sure enough, when the teacher called his name he got to the door, turned and looked right at her and said, "You took SO long!".

Get used to it, kid.

There, I Did It

I started a blog.

I've been told by several people that my kids crack them up.  They crack me up too.  The things that come out of their mouths sometimes just amazes me (and not always in a good way).  My kids can be very clever and witty with a dash of smartass squeezed in.  I didn't know that such sarcasm can start at such a young age.

I am a stay at home mom to 4 kids:  2 boys and 2 girls - in that order.  The oldest is almost 7.  Very sarcastic but very well behaved....for other people.

My second born is 5.  He's cool because he just started Kindergarten.  He's quick and witty, but serious at the same time.

Then there's the first girl.  She's 2 going on 16.  She thinks she's the boss of the house (daddy thinks so too). She has developed quite a little attitude for being 2.  I've heard people talk about the terrible two's.  My mom (also a mom to 2 of each) is a firm believer that there is no such thing as the terrible twos.  She says that at 2 they're curious, but at 3 they know better.  If this is true, I'm in a lot of trouble.

Last is the baby.  She is 2 months old.  She's been a pretty good baby so far.  Loves attention from her siblings.  Loves to eat.  So far so good.

Boy do I have my work cut out for me.
